Printing web pages
Why do web pages print with the right-hand edge missing? Over the years I've used many printers on many web pages and, recently, unless the page is laid out with all the text centred, the last word or fraction of a word (who knows?) is omitted down the right margin.
Can it be that all webpages are designed around American Letter page size, which is slightly wider than A4? I've just tried a new HP laser printer using 'ZoomSmart' (scaled to fit A4) which perfectly reduces an A3 Excel spreadsheet to A4 portrait size but which cannot tame a web page.
I, and several thousand others, would be very greatful for for your insight into this phenomenum.

Agreed that it's a pain! Which is why I have always printed web pages in landscape on A4 - reduced to 2 pages per sheet if the printer can cope.
Alternatively if paper is not required why not just print to disk eg using something like Micrsoft's Journal Note Writer (or similar).

Try using Opera 8, it scales the web page to fit correctly on the printed page.

All recent Canon printers come with software that will automatically fit the web page to A4 paper, talk nicely to a Canon printer owner for a trial run :-)

Simple, ditch IE and use Firefox.

I have usually got around the problem of Web Pages not printing properly by altering the margins on the page setup screen of Explorer, even as low as 0.

My new Epson printer came with "EPSON Web-To-Page" software which eliminates this problem. There is a launch button for the software sitting just below the address bar in IE.

I use an add-on to IE called PrintPunk which fixes the problem.

My XEROX 6110 has a "Fit to Page" feature which sometimes works & sometimes does not when trying to print the same web page. Help from Xerox is pathetic as the people who reply appear unable (or unwilling) to actually read one's posts & send sensible replies. The "fit to page" feature XEROX supply may as well not be included in their software if it won't work reliably.
